Calling all footballers at Oxford University

If you are a member of an Oxford college, please register for an ouafc.com account. Once you have registered you will be able to log into your own college's section of the site and add news and match reports, post messages in your own college's forum, edit other players' biographies, enter quizzes and vote in polls. You can view detailed statistics on all football matches played at Oxford University: the more people register, the more comprehensive the data will be so please help us out by contributing. Even if you don't play football, you are welcome to register.

Oxford Successful on tour to the States

The Oxford Blues have returned from a highly successful tour to the United States having beaten Yale and Columbia, with their only defeat coming on the very last day of the tour at the hands of Princeton.

The first leg of the tour took the team to Boston, after getting settled and exploring Boston for what remained of the first day the squad were looking forward to their first training session with new coach Mike Cave the following morning. Harvard had kindly allowed the team to make use of one of their pitches and Coach Cave set about laying down the foundations of an attractive passing game that would persist throughout the tour. The session however was marred by a bad injury to right back Rob Price who unfortunately was unable to recover to take part in any of the matches.

Oxford Victorious in both 27th annual Ladies Football Varsity Matches

The 27th annual Ladies Football Varsity matches were played on the 3rd of March 2012 at the Marston Pitches in Oxford. A rainy start to the day cleared up just in time with the sun coming through the clouds for the first match. The Furies vs. Eagles match kicked off at 11pm and started off highly competitive. The Oxford Furies went out very strongly and were able to secure the lead with a fantastic goal by the Furies striker, Lucia Groizard. The Cambridge Eagles were tough to defend, but the Furies managed to secure their lead into half time. The second half commenced with the Eagles fighting for their comeback though there was excellent defensive work from the Furies back line, especially the Furies Captain and full back, Elizabeth Birch, and they were able to successfully hold them off. ... OUAFC is proud to announce that it has become an official partner of the Oxfordshire FA. Both OUAFC and the OFA are committed to improving the football offered to those within Oxford and encouraging as many people into the game as possible. We hope that this partnership will help us continue to grow the game and provide the best opportunities possible for those studying at Oxford University.

Oxfordshire FA is the governing body for all football within the county and can offer a number of great opportunities for those still studying within Oxford such as coaching and refereeing courses. For those leaving the university and looking to stay involved in football, the OFA can help you find a team to continue your career with.
